Wow, we have come a long way with the drywall in the shop.

Here's kind of a first look, as I don't have really have a good shot of this part of the shop. Here you are looking from the windows. There used to be a room there, which interestingly enough is where the bathroom is now.

Here's another look, the red pole is the black pole in the last picture.

Wow, that is a lot of tearing out, and building back up!

When your think you have hung enough drywall...

The HQ training gave me a shot in the arm and a kick in the pants, about opening the shop. Robert and I talked because I haven't really done much work in the shop. (part of it was because of my fractured foot and part of it was stubbornness) Anyway, I need to work on some quilts and help with the shop rebuild. So, we agreed that I would work on quilts in the evening during the week and help in the shop on Saturdays. So, I helped Robert today. I hang insulation while and Jason hung drywall. They did a great job. They used all but two of the 44 sheets of drywall we had bought.

And, as you can see there is still more to hang.
*sigh* We did talk to some friends today that refurbished a house a couple of blocks from us. They told us about the guy they had hired to do the finish work for them on the drywall. That sounds like a really great idea to me, as mudding and sanding drywall is my least favorite thing to do.

Drywall and HVAC.

Our friend Jason helped Robert, work on the drywall. Here's the bathroom.

The HVAC guys came and moved some vents and retaped and insulated the vents.

Here's the new industrial unit.

Robert the HQ technician.

So, while I was quilting away, Robert was taking the HQ apart and learning to put it back together.
Yay!

Nashville.

Our time in Nashville has been interesting. We sought out the downtown area last night to hang out and have dinner. Downtown Nashville is interesting dirty-ish with some broken down buildings mixed in with some good places to eat and lots of music and musicians and musician want-a-bees. Which makes it a little like Augusta. Part of the training was in the opryland hotel. We got to eat dinner at the Waterside Buffet in the hotel. The food was good and there were some dishes from other countries. It was good and the hotel is unlike any place we have ever been.

Handi Quilter training.

I really love this machine, it is a great mid-arm quilting machine. I have owned one for a four years and will sell them in the shop when it opens. The training has been great and exhausting all at the same time.

Traffic.

So, this is driving into Atlanta on a Friday evening on our way to Roswell, the weekend before going to Nashville for training.
Can I just say that I DON'T miss the traffic! But, I do miss my our friends.

Ode to gray hair.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Gray hair, not one or two or even three.

I have tried to cut and color,
But alas, I am looking like my mother.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Gray hair, not one or two or even three.

Oh, believe me I have tried to pluck and pull,
But, I think it would be easier to stop a raging bull.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Gray hair, not one or two or even three.

Some say that it is because of stress,
And, in our life lately there have been some tests.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Gray hair, not one or two or even three.

So, as much as I wonder and rage,
There is no stopping middle age.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Gray hair, not one or two or even three.

It's a circle.

So, the dahlia is finally a circle. YAY!!

Now I get to make it into a square, add some borders and quilt it! Sew many quilts, sew little time!

The Guys cross the Savannah River.

Kim called Robert and asked if he wanted to cross the river with the guys this Saturday. Robert said yes and invited Drew to come along as well.

Here's 4 out of 5 of the guys to bravely cross.
Wading in to reach the shoals.
Wow, it is deeper in some places than others.
Later in the evening Robert and I went back and took our dogs. Tallulah had a blast playing in the river and trying to herd the water. Sabueso, always a little more cautious, did get all four paws wet for about 30 seconds but that was it. It was a nice walk for all of us.

More drywall.....

Thirty sheets of drywall for the storeroom and the break room/office. That's a lot of drywall. We got 10 sheets hung. Here's Robert measuring twice to cut once!

The IT guy telling the accountant what to do.

Here's the storeroom mostly done.

And, my creative friend Beth sketching out a couple of ideas for murals for the kids area and the bathroom.

A couple of more things about the weekend.

Beth and I being the drywall experts totally missed the stud with the first attempt, and then like the professionals we are, we touched the screw and burnt our left index fingers. Good help is hard to find.

After a shower and a power nap we went to the dollar theater to see Iron Man, which was fun. Then as tradition holds we sat on the veranda drank some wine and beer and the followed that with ice cream. Just another exciting weekend in Augusta.

Baked beans.

I made baked beans for a going away luncheon at work. One of my co-workers Marsha said that they were "really good and that she thought my inner black woman had come out." That compliment made me chuckle. Thanks Marsha I'm glad you liked them.
