The quilt display rack.

My creative husband, cut this old wood post that had been in the shop apart and hung it up on the wall. He will attach clips on it to hang quilts up on it[for display. I love it, another thing in the shop that makes me smile.

Greek Festival.

Robert, Megan and I went to the Greek Festival tonight and had some great Greek food, (the fries with feta on them were wonderful!) and listened to some music and watched some dancers. We had a good time just hanging out and eating and doing a little shopping. We then went home and watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". It was just as fun this time around. So, if you are downtown, the festival goes through tomorrow and if you want to watch the movie come on by and I'll lend it to you!

Another Saturday of painting.

So, another Saturday spent painting. We (Marie, Sammie, and I) got the bathroom painted with two coats of "splash" .
The second coat of "baguette" on the all the drywall walls in the shop.

And the kids area painted with what was supposed to be lighter than baguette, but it looked like it was just the same. *sigh*

One my helpers Sammie, had a sleepover last night, so she conked out and took a nap after her picnic lunch. Wow, thanks again ladies I wouldn't have gotten nearly as much done without your help.

My friend Corrie came over a couple of Saturdays ago and we quilted this great baby quilt she made for her son Magnus. Today I got this great thank you card. The card is covered in this beautiful batik fabric with turtles appliqued on it. What a great idea. The stamp is even cool.

Drool.

I am sad that this picture, just doesn't give the true view of just how much Tallulah had drooled on the floor while waiting for her kibble. Because it made me chuckle, before I had to clean it up before someone slipped on it and broke something.

Yeah for lights, and other finishing touches.

The electricians were here again today, and got the lights hooked up to the switch. Now we (when I say we I mean Robert) can work even later into the evening. There are still the lights in the bathroom and the breakroom to finish, hopefully that will be done tomorrow.

The lights for the kids area are outside lights, because I wanted them to be a little "rustic" as it will be painted like a castle.

Honestly it makes me smile, just thinking about it.

Update on Drew.

Thanks for asking, Drew is no worse for the wear. His eye got worse on Thursday and then better on Friday. By Saturday, all the swelling and itching were gone. He is back to "normal".

Cutting out a couple of quilts.

Well, since my machine is in the shop I spent the day cutting out a couple of quilts. One is a t-shirt quilt that is for pay. Woo hoo! The other is for the shop when it opens. It is kind of nice to have days of just cutting. Hopefully next weekend will be at least one day of just sewing, and then maybe another day of just quilting. Oh, and there is always painting...................

Pieceful Hearts Mini Retreat.

This Friday and Saturday was a mini-retreat for the quilt guild I belong to. We meet at Belvedere Baptist Church on Friday night and sewed our little hearts out. I came home about 10:30p.m. (which is late for me). Then after breakfast I went back and we sewed some more. It was a fun relaxing time of sewing, looking at projects, eating, chatting, laughing, and getting to know people a little better. (If Marie emails me the pictures I will post them) I worked on another scrappy heart. The red and white one that will be a table runner. After the retreat I took my sewing machine for a much needed service check. I'm pretty sure I have stitched at least 50,000 miles on it this year. Then home to finish the painting in the shop from last weekend. After that Robert and I walked the bad dogs to the Pizza Joint and had some dinner. All in all it was a really nice couple of days.

Drew gets into a fight with a bug.

Drew woke up this morning with several bug bites. One is the big knot on his forehead and another by his right eye. He has a couple more bites on his back and arms. Not nearly as impressive as the two on his face, though. I gave him a Zyrtec, an Ibuprofen and an ice pack and sent him off to school. He told me they were better, but when he got home tonight his eye was worse. I gave him more antihistamines and anti-inflammatories and it continued to get worse. So, Megan took him to the E.R. for us since Robert and I both have to work tomorrow. We'll see how much sleep I get waiting to hear what the doctor has to say.
